The City based Cholayil Group, manufacturer of Medimix, Sanjeevanam and other skin care products will organise a two-day "Indian Herbal Conference 2010" here on February 13 and 14 to create awareness on the importance of Indian Herbal wealth, their therapeutic usefulness and conservation for a healthier life.
Addressing a press conference here, Organising Secretary K H S Manian said about 700 participants comprising Botanists, Phytochemists, Foresty personnel, Herbal Medicine practitioners, scientists and researchers from all over the country are expected to take part in the conference.
He said talks by 15 invited eminent scientists would be presented in the five plenary sessions. Educative speeches on cultivation, conservation, propogation and quality control of medicinal plants, mass multiplication, exploring forests and tissue culture would be the highight of the conference.
"Indian herbs, an inseparable part of our Indian system of medicine are in the peril of getting eradicated due to many factors like changing life style, modernisation, developments, exploitation, deforestation and lack of awareness about its importance", he said.
