Wood Tiger Acupuncture, a San Francisco acupuncture treatment clinic located near the historic Castro Theatre, is offering a cure for the chronic blues. The acupuncture clinic now offers all-natural NeuroNutrient therapy which, when combined with acupuncture, does more than treat mood disorders—it helps the body repair itself, so the patient can feel normal again.
When people go to the doctor with symptoms of chronic stress or depression, they are typically offered pharmaceuticals such as anti-depressants or tranquilizers, which do nothing to correct the underlying cause of the problem and add to the body’s toxic load. NeuroNutrient therapy is different. It treats the problem at the cellular level by flooding the body with simple nutrients like vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fish oils to provide the brain with what it needs to correct neurotransmitter imbalances and calm the stress response.
“We have been able to help people who suffer from anxiety and depression with a combination of NeuroNutrient therapy combined with acupuncture in under 30 days,” said Peter J. Stark, MS Lac, founder of Wood Tiger Acupuncture. “This all-natural approach and treatment assists the body’s natural processes. This is very different than SSRI antidepressant drug treatments, which force brain cells to work differently than they naturally would, and can cause significant side effects.”
New research, published in Nature, builds on earlier studies that indicate chronic stress levels cause people to become depressed. Stress is a survival state—sometimes called the “fight or flight” response. When people encounter a threat, chemicals and nutrients are released into the blood. When a sense of well-being returns, the body goes back to its normal state.
Unfortunately, many people are experiencing high levels of stress, especially in these times of financial uncertainty. It is estimated that more than 10% of the US population is taking antidepressants. Wood Tiger’s NeuroNutrient therapy patients report relief from depression and immediate improvements to mental clarity and their ability to focus. They also report they are capable of managing stress in a healthier way after leaving the clinic.
About the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) has been at the forefront of educating students in Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Bay Area since its inception in 1980. Their two degree programs—the Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) and the Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)—provide an exceptional professional education.
ACTCM’s community clinics serve as a diverse and demanding training ground for their students, while providing affordable health care services to the community. ACTCM’s certificate programs in Tui Na and Shiatsu and its introductory classes for the public offer additional educational opportunities for current
ACTCM students, healthcare professionals and the general public.
Bay Area acupuncture treatment, as taught by ACTCM, restores balance and health, and is used for everything from chronic pain to drug dependence. It is also effective for allergy relief, weight loss, pain management and fertility treatment.
During treatment practitioners insert sterile, disposable needles at acupuncture points along the meridians. Because of the thin and pliable needles used, most people feel little to no discomfort. Patients typically leave feeling energized or relaxed with a deep sense of well-being.
