IT’S not only humans who can have herbal treatments and acupuncture. A Bayside vet says she prefers to treat loved pets with more natural remedies when she can. Dr Ann Nevill said it would be better for the dog or cat to use non-chemical treatment whenever possible.

Dog owner Robyn Simmons said her pet Moca was treated with acupuncture. He also had to have surgery, because the injury was so bad, but acupuncture helped bring back feeling in his nerves and he is now walking and wagging his tail.
Dr Nevill said animals with intractable diseases, such as cancers, could react much better to herbal remedies. “We have treated around 1500 cases of difficult diseases over the last 15 years and reduced the use of heavier Western-style drugs and improved the outcomes of these cases,” Dr Nevill said.
