Homeopathic Insomnia Remedy No Match For Antarctic Summer (Video)

Posted in : Homeopathy, Videos

(added last year!)

There was so much interest in the homeopathy challenge I posted about Monday that I wanted to get some more information for you on how things went down.

Michael Marshall at the Merseyside Skeptics Society, the organizer of the deliberate overdose events around the world, was kind enough to send along an update by e-mail today.  Turns out that more than 1,600 people in 28 countries and Antarctica took part, according to a preliminary count. No injuries, illnesses or worse were reported.

Many of the brave volunteers — from Argentina to the good ol' US of A — produced videos to document their exploits. Photos can be found on Flickr here.  One video featuring Australian Paul Willis aboard ship in the waters off Antarctica was particularly entertaining.

Spoiler alert: Hours after Willis sprayed a whole lot of a homeopathic sleeping potion in his mouth, he was alive and awake! The ship's doctor declared him "boringly bloody normal."
