HOW CAN REIKI HELP?

HOW CAN REIKI HELP?With the help of John Taylor, she found the sessions so beneficial she is now also able to offer Reiki to others.

John became a Reiki Master in 1996 after being told by a spiritual medium he was going to be a healer one day. His wife introduced him to Reiki and after receiving it himself he went through the attunement process and since moving to Spain, has helped a number of cancer patients, “I met a lady from a local support group, it helped her and she recommended me and it seems to be the way I’m going.” John is so dedicated to helping cancer sufferers that he contacted the Leader during our breast cancer awareness campaign to offer two free sessions for any woman going through treatment. But what exactly is Reiki?

Reiki is a non-invasive treatment with the receiver remaining fully clothed. It is a balanced energy flowing through the practitioner to the receiver that brings about healing by helping the body to re-balance itself. When the body is in a state of balance it brings about its natural healing properties and re-energises the body and state of mind working on the mental and emotional levels. “Cancer treatments can really take its toll on the body but many patients find Reiki helps them.  I also encourage them to do Reiki on themselves at home.” John continues, “Anything to help them help themselves is a good thing. The body can heal itself and keeping energy levels up can help that happen.”  One client agrees, “When I’m having chemo my energy levels are rock bottom but the Reiki helps pick me up. I can feel a little buzz in my stomach.” Another of John’s clients said in a written letter of thanks to him, “I went not knowing what to expect and the whole experience was simply amazing... I can cope with things better than before and I’m a much stronger person.

John also specialises in using Bach Flower Remedies which help you cope with various emotions and stress. They were developed by a Harley Street doctor, Edward Bach, in the 1930’s believing in his philosophy, ‘a healthy mind ensures a healthy body.’ Using his knowledge of homeopathy he formulated a plant or flower based remedy to treat each of 38 negative states of mind. John allows his clients to choose 5 or 6 states of mind they feel closely represent their emotions and how they are feeling and he creates their own personal and unique Bach Flower Remedy. “This process can also help me understand where they are at and how they are feeling and opens up lines of communications. I am not a councillor but it helps to talk about any fears or worries they may have and sometimes that is easier to do with someone outside the family circle.”

John stresses that Reiki is not meant to be a substitute for medical care and doctor recommended treatments but believes it can greatly assist and aid in the healing and recovery of cancer. “All I ask is that people come with an open mind and try it. I have never had anyone come and said they haven’t got anything out of it.”

If you are currently battling breast cancer and would like to take up John’s offer of two free introductory Reiki sessions, you can call him on 966 798 047.
