Restrictions on Reiki

September 2, 2010 |12:19 | Reiki  By : Team X

Depending on whom you trained with, you may have been given quite a long list of 'situations where you should not use Reiki'. It seems that the only restriction that Mrs Takata taught was that you should not treat a broken bone with Reiki, but many other restrictions have been added in later on in Reiki's Western history. I thought I would spend a little time talking about these 'Reiki contraindications'.

Firstly, I would like to talk about the 'broken bone' restriction. This is made on the basis that Reiki accelerates the healing process, so you do not want Reiki to set the bone before it has been put back in the right position. Now while Reiki is an amazing energy, and has done some wonderful and breathtaking things, I think most people's experience is that Reiki gently supports the body's natural healing ability, and that while it may accelerate the healing process, the effects of Reiki generally build up cumulatively. I do not believe that Reiki will set someone's bone like fast-acting Polyfilla, so that they will have to have the bone re-broken and re-set when they get to Casualty a few hours later. Breaking a bone is a shocking and painful experience (I know this from first hand experience!) and Reiki could make a real difference to someone, so I would not hold back from giving it, and I would not hold back from treating the area where the bone is broken. Suggesting that you could Reiki someone, but keep well away from the broken bone, does not stop Reiki from rushing to where it is needed (the bone), and why would we imagine that what many people see as a spiritually-guided life-force energy would mess things up for a person. Reiki is supposed to be intelligent.

Naturopathic medicine is on the rise in the Yakima ValleySitting in her large, bright office, Dr. Heidi Robel prescribes what she believes to be the essential difference between her medical practice and others.

"Education, education, education." And she doesn't mean her own. As a licensed naturopathic physician, Robel believes a patient's care relies on what each client wants, needs and is willing to learn.

"We teach people to make educated choices about their health," she said. "We're just like other family doctors; we just have more tools in our kit to use."

Reiki.Reiki is a Japanese healing modality. It's a hands-on, non-invasive, non-manipulative therapy that balances our mind, body, and spirit through the use of Universal Life Energy.

Reiki is a way of bringing us "home", of reconnecting with the essence of who we are.
This work is done fully clothed, light hands above and on the body.

Reiki is the Magic YOU Can Do!

May 25, 2010 |12:29 | Reiki  By : Team X

Do you find the title intriguing? The intention is not to intrigue but motivate and convince you that the magic of Reiki is within you.

Reiki is a benign energy that brings happiness and light into the lives of everyone who embraces it. It is an energy that can be harnessed to fulfill the little desires of life. Often the way Reiki works seems like magic.

Reiki asserts that the world is energy vibrating at different frequencies. Thought is energy and action is also energy. Every single object in the physical world is energy vibrating at different frequencies. Since energy cannot be destroyed, it remains in its current state until it is converted into other forms or reactions to form new energy vortices. Reiki gives you the power of conversion-the power of making the negative, positive.

Healing Reiki - How You Can Use It To Your Benefit!

November 2, 2009 |13:14 | General Information | Reiki  By : Team X

To be quite frank, feeling good all of the time is something that a lot of people simply do not experience.  While there are times that you should feel better, there are times that you just feel crappy!  For those times – especially when your muscles are sore, reiki could actually be the answer to all of your prayers.  A lot of people do not understand exactly what reiki is and that is what we are going to explore!

Healing Reiki - How You Can Use It To Your Benefit

First and foremost, reiki is actually energy healing.  The person who is doing the reiki on you is the healer and they actually draw energy into their hands from around them and inside of them.  Usually, this materializes and it centers itself on any of the sore muscles that you have or really any diseases.  Reiki is something that a lot of doctors do not believe in, but in my experience – it works. So if you are looking for something alternative to heal you, you should look for someone that does reiki.  It is definitely something to try at least!

The debate over reikis benefits spills over at Roman Catholic hospitals

September 30, 2009 |13:54 | General Information | Reiki  By : Team X

Debbie Griseuk is a reiki practitioner and teacher who volunteered her time to elderly nuns in Manchester, N.H., and patients at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. In fact, she first became interested in the Japanese hands-on healing technique at St. Joseph, where she attended a lecture along with some nuns. She went through a training course at the Roman Catholic hospital, eventually becoming a reiki master.

The debate over reikis benefits spills over at Roman Catholic hospitals

But last spring the US Conference of Catholic Bishops announced that reiki - hailed by many as therapy, derided by others as quackery - would no longer be practiced in the church’s hospitals and retreat centers. Reiki, according to the bishops, is not grounded in science or Christianity and is therefore inappropriate for Catholic institutions.

Practitioners and clients claim that reiki (pronounced RAY-kee) reduces pain, stress, and anxiety; accelerates recovery from surgery and illness; and boosts the immune system. The church hierarchy begs to differ.

Simplify Surya Namaskar With Reiki

September 17, 2009 |15:26 | Reiki  By : Team X

Simplify Surya Namaskar With ReikiThe elderly who face physical limitations find it difficult to practice the 12 postures of the traditional Surya Namaskar of Sun Salutation.

However a simpler technique could be evolved, by adapting a few aspects of the Japanese morning prayer of Satya Reiki while breathing in the Sun's energy into the third eye and other chakras.

The Surya Namaskar is a traditional morning ritual in the nature of paying tribute to the Sun. It is not easy to do the 12 complicated physical movements in a set pattern while breathing deeply and chanting mantras. The elderly, the infirm and the weak therefore stay content with just sun-gazing.

What is Reiki?

September 10, 2009 |15:45 | General Information | Reiki  By : Team X

The laying of hands for comfort or pain relief is an ancient instinct. Human touch conveys caring and love, warmth, serenity and healing. The loving act of touch is the basis for all spiritual healing techniques.

What is Reiki?

Life Force Energy is radiated from the living body as warmth and energy. It is called Ki, Chi, Prana, or Manna, original energy, vital essence or activating universal energy. In Reiki, this energy is called 'Ki'.

Ki is an essential phenomenon. It is a type of energy that determines the fundamental state of health and vitality in all life forms. Reiki works to enhance and conserve Ki by directing its movement in the body. Ki is the life force of the universe, the source of original energy. Everything that is living radiates Ki. It is the bio magnetic origin of the aura. When Ki departs the living body, life ceases.

Reiki - a catalyst to healing process

September 5, 2009 |16:36 | Reiki  By : Team X

Reiki, a relatively unknown mode of treatment in Pakistan, not only complements medical treatment but also manages the side effects of many medicines. “Reiki, if administered to cancer patients along side chemotherapy, does prevent the harmful effects of the treatment to a great extent,” says Raheela Ahmad, a Reiki expert who has been successfully practicing Reiki treatment in Pakistan for over six years.

In an interview with The News, Raheela Ahmad stated that Reiki was very popular in America, Japan and Europe, adding that medical science also recognized it as a complementary form of healing. “Many hospitals have separate wards in which patients are offered Reiki sessions along with other treatment to accelerate the healing process,” she added.

Raheela Ahmad informed that Reiki (pronounced as Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of two words i.e. Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy) - an energy which animates us all and is found all around us. By harnessing this energy, a person can harmonize his body, mind and spirit not only for himself and also for others. By developing the ability to attract the positive energies roaming freely around, one can actually change circumstances in one’s life in a positive way.
